Leading Professional Learning, a simulation game we developed in collaboration with WestEd, equips leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to plan and implement impactful professional learning opportunities for educators. Originally a physical learning experience, Leading Professional Learning has been transformed into an engaging digital board game. The game draws upon research- and practice-based concepts from the book Designing Professional Development for Teachers of Science and Mathematics, providing leaders with a hands-on, experiential learning environment.
Through this game, players encounter challenges and make decisions that mirror the complexities of leading professional learning in school settings. This helps leaders develop a clear vision for effective professional development and acquire new skills to support sustained, meaningful change in educational practices.

The game provides real-time, contextual feedback based on the player’s performance, helping them to internalize best practices and adapt to changes in the patient’s status.
