Rick is responsible for coordinating the efforts of Filament's talented visual artists and ensuring their work is successfully integrated into the larger whole. Rick also serves as a user interface designer, user interface artist, animator, visual effects creator, and level designer. Since joining Filament Games, he has contributed to multiple projects, including: Branches of Power, Landform Detectives, Executive Command, LawCraft, Energy City, Argument Wars, Eco Defenders, Do I Have A Right?, Transform It!, Resilient Planet, Guardian of Law, Citizen Science, Career Explorer, and United Sugpiaq Alutiiq. Prior to joining the Filament Games team, Rick worked for TDS (a Fortune 500 telecommunications company) and the Academic ADL Co-Laboratory. Rick's past experience includes such highlights as leading the development of a web-based algebra curriculum and the development of a training program for federal technical standards. Rick is an avid gamer of the video/tabletop/board/role-playing variety. His other interests include instructional design, Flash development, documentation design, classroom instruction, project management, user experience design, content management tools, information architecture and various web development technologies. A certified Adobe Flash designer and Dreamweaver developer, Rick previously taught Adobe Flash as a part-time faculty member at Madison Area Technical College. |
